It’s not uncommon to see people perusing user manuals for VCRs, DVD players, smart phones, and digital watches in order to make sure that everything is working as designed, and that all features and functionality are present.

Likewise, parents, friends, and siblings will pore over instructions for bikes, scale trains, furniture, remote controlled cars, and model kits as though they were Champollion attempting to decipher Egyptian text, and all in order to make sure the items in question are assembled to the best of each individual’s ability.

Unfortunately, the level of dedication shown toward playing with one’s toys seems to be inverted when it comes to understanding EULAs and TOS documents.
